In a traditional internet forum, you have “Forums” and “Subforums”.
The Discourse platform refers to them as “Categories” and “Subcategories”.
So when you see a mention of a subforum, think “subcategory”.
For example, there is the main “1.4g Product” category. And then within that category is the subcategory (or “subforum”) named “1.4Pro (UN0431)”
If you want to customize which categories (“Forums”) you see in your Category list, there are two considerations.
- You can let the platform decide what shows up in the list based on overall activity.
- You can click the pencil icon across from the top of the list. On the resulting screen, place a checkmark in the forums/subforums that you want to see when you view the list.
(I don’t know if this exists or in what fashion it may exist on the mobile app)
On the computer browser version of the site, you can create drafts of posts/replies and minimize them to the bottom of your screen. For example, when I was crafting the email about Messages, Channels, and DMs, I would use the Minimize function to collapse that post to the bottom of the screen so that I could navigate to other portions of the site. Then come back to that draft and keep writing it.
